Fabulous! Wanted to try the tiny clams since they are hard to find, before the menu was changed. (Did not get a picture!) They were the sweetest in the most delicate broth. Chef Andrea was also our server since he gave his staff off for the day after Christmas. We each choose a selection from every course except dessert. For the appetizer I choose the tiny cockles and we also had the smoked at table mozzarella with meats and cheeses. The swordfish pasta and potato and guanciale pasta were excellent. For the meat course, my boyfriend loved the sea bass. I had the braciole with meatballs and sausage. I could only take a bite of my meatball since I was full but that was the most incredible meatball that I ever had in my life. I will be saviouring that later today. A few reviews said that portions were small. We felt portions were perfect. However If I could order a tray of those meatballs... Truly an amazing place in the suburbs.

Me and My wife had one of the best dinners in a long time this past Friday. I highly recommend the smoked mozzarella appetizer, the rigatoni all'Amatriciana, gnocchi con creama di asparagi and the cotoletta alla petroniana(veal). Our server Avery was amazing as well.

My partner and I have been to Gusto four or five times since they opened in Fall 2022, and it's now one of our favorite restaurants and date nights. The last couple times we've been there, the staff and owners have recognized us and welcomed us back, which really makes the experience feel even more special. Eating here does feel like an experience. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is intimate and warm, and the service feels personal. The Food: Everything we've had has been delicious, and feels authentic. I've not been to Italy myself, but the food feels like you're transported to another part of the world, enjoying the culture in a way you won't find in many traditional Italian American restaurants. The food itself is beautifully presented, often deceptively simple looking, but delicious and well made. The menu is often refreshed with seasonal options, but some of the best dishes stick around - meaning you have the opportunity to get adventurous with something new to the menu, or order a favorite dish. Either way you won't be disappointed. The meatballs (Polpette di Mamma) are a favorite of ours - so flavorful and incredibly tender, they practically melt in your mouth. The sauce looks like a simple red sauce, but tastes complex and deep. The Mozzarella Affumicata appetizer is also a favorite, and a simple dish elevated by its presentation and excellent quality. Mozzarella made fresh in-house, smoked under a cloche that is brought out and removed at the table. The pleasant smoky smell gently spreads through the dining room but doesn't overstay it's welcome. The cheese itself is not overwhelmingly smokey, but the smoke adds a relatively subtle complexity to the fresh cheese. The platter also comes with several harder cheeses, and is served with walnuts and honey, which are a tasty complement. The Service: As I said, we've only been to Gusto a handful of times, but we've been remembered and feel appreciated as customers. We leave with a smile on our face from a delicious meal, and the owners and staff seem happy to please. The chef/owner Andrea often introduces himself, their restaurant, and their mission to serve excellent and authentic food, and provides information about the dishes and their origins. Overall it's a very warm and personal experience. The Atmosphere: The dining room has an elegant, intimate and romantic vibe. Overall it is dimly lit, but each table has a small lamp that helps keep things well lit enough to read the menu and appreciate the food, without disrupting the atmosphere. It makes for a great date night, but can equally be enjoyed by friends and family. Overall, Gusto is one of our favorite and most special eating experiences. It stands out as a restaurant dedicated to the love of authentic Italian food and culture. The owners' passion is infectious, and comes through in the food - it inspires and invites you to appreciate the food as he does, and in that way it transports you to a meal experience that feels special.
